Andrew had been working as a computer programmer and designing websites since graduating Boston University in 2001. Wells had been working for various companies in the CD and DVD replication field for close to 10 years. Both had suspected that left to their own devices, they'd be able to excel and do a better job.
Using both professional knowledge, and experience gained from years of playing in bands, booking shows, and putting out CDs and records, the duo dug in and worked to create a small base of very satisfied and loyal customers.
By March of 2004, the company had grown to include Andre Bermudez, brought on to head the accounting department. ICON also added pre-press veteran, Matt Dallow to head up the art department. Quickly outgrowing it's Port Jefferson office, the company set about to find a new home.
That home was found on South Jersey Avenue in East Setauket. Located in the center of town, ICON is walking distance to many restaurants and activities. Most notably, a parking lot seemingly built specifically for playing Wiffle Ball.
The new location helped ICON to expand its service to the record labels, bands, and companies that depend on ICON for their CDs, DVDs, Audio Mastering, and Enhanced CD programming.
In 2005 ICON rounded out its roster by bringing on Salesperson, Rich Warwick. With his help and wisdom, ICON went on to grow by leaps and bounds and make 2006 its best year yet.
As we make our way through 2007, the music industry is quickly changing. ICON is meeting the evolving needs of our customers by beginning to offer new services like Digital Distribution, digital packaging design, Myspace page customization, tee shirt printing, and more.
