Have you ever popped a band's new CD in your player, only to realize that you have to crank up the volume just to get it to sound as loud as most of your other CDs? That's Audio Mastering... or a lack of it. Audio Mastering is a very important - but often overlooked - step in getting your recording to sound its very best. The Audio Mastering process takes your completed and mixed recording, and prepares it to sound great in a wide range of playback environments. Here's an example of a track we mastered here at ICON.
