What's IndieOS? What's the relationship with ICON?
IndieOS is a web hosting provider which provides services primarily to bands, labels, artists, etc. Icon Omnimedia and IndieOS have partnered up to offer our clients and affiliates high quality web hosting at special discounted rates.

Your billing statement and credit card charges will indicated billing by IndieOS Web Services.

How do I sign up/get started? It's easy! Just start click here to get started. You'll fill out some basic information and your account will be ready in 24 hours or less.

How long will it take after I place my order?
About 24 hours before your account is ready, though it may take up to 48 hours for your domain name to connect to your new web hosting space. This is called propagation time.

How do I contact support. Do I have to fill out a support ticket?
You do not have to fill out a support ticket, however we strongly recommend the as it's THE FASTEST way to get our attention and it tells us a lot about your account auto-matically without us having to go back and forth asking as many questions. However you may also send an email to support@indieos.com, call toll free at (888) 282-1928 or catch us on Skype at IndieOS or AIM at IndieOS Live. If you do not use the support ticket, be sure to let us know who you are, your primary domain name and anything else you think might be helpful in addition to your problem description.

Do you have 24/7 phone support?
Not quite, but our toll free number rings to a cell phone carried 24/7 by one of our support staff. It's possible you may reach a voice mail, if that happens leave a message and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.

How can I pay?
You may use Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We also accept PayPal which will allow you to use an "e-check" direct from your bank account. We cannot accept checks or money orders at this time, unless arrangements are made in advance and you pay for one year in advance.

Will my account have a web-based control panel?
Yes. All accounts come with Cpanel.

Will my account come with any statistics programs?
Yes. It comes with Webalizer, AWStats, Urchin and Analog. Use whichever one you like best.

Can I resell space on my account?
You may not operate as a reseller by the standard definition, but if you want to informally host another site by a friend, relative, band or whatever, that's fine. If you want to charge them, that's fine too. However, our hosting packages are not configured for resellers and as such, we cannot support your users, nor will they have their own control panels.

Do I have to have a domain to be hosted?
Yes, you can register a domain name through Icon Omnimedia by clicking here. Or visit any registrar like enom.com, register.com, godaddy.com, networksolutions.com, etc. Make sure you use a reputable service!

How many domains can I host with my account?
As many as you can fit. Just keep in mind that you have been allocated a certain amount of disk space and bandwidth. You must operate within those boundaries or upgrade your package. All "add-on" domains share these resources.

What do you mean "unlimited"?
You are only limited by the amount of space and bandwidth allotted to you in your package. You may have as many pages, applications, databases, email accounts, etc. as you want within those boundaries.

Can I upgrade/downgrade my hosting plan?
Sure, just login to your client area where you'll have that option.

Will you host porn/adult content?
While we do not prohibit adult content, we are not an adult content host. We have no objections, but there are certain practical considerations, similarly we cannot host game servers at this time. If you plan on hosting any sort of typical adult site, you should really use an actual adult hosting service. Contact us to get a recommendation.

What if I exceed my bandwidth?
If you exceed your bandwidth one month because you got listed on some major site or otherwise got some unusual attention, we'll let you slide. If it becomes a recurring problem or adversely affects the services of others accounts on the server, we may ask you to purchase extra bandwidth or a larger package and in rare cases may be suspended. In most cases though, we'll work with you instead of auto-suspending your site like other hosts do. See the Terms Of Service for full details.
